Hitachi Energy Sweden Advances Construction of 100,000 m² Logistics Center
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 2, Hitachi Energy Sweden selected logistics service provider Logent to design and subsequently operate its new logistics center in Ludvika. The center is adjacent to Hitachi Energy's existing production base, covers a planned area of more than 100,000 m², and is scheduled to begin operations in 2027. The project will integrate warehousing, internal transport, and production material distribution, and will be equipped with corresponding storage equipment, operating systems, and automation facilities to serve Hitachi Energy's expanded power equipment manufacturing operations in the area.

The new logistics center will be built adjacent to Hitachi Energy's Ludvika production base, forming an industrial logistics facility that connects production and warehousing. The project plan includes not only warehouse space but also goods receiving, inventory management, internal transfer, and distribution to production areas. Once the center is operational, Logent will be responsible for warehouse management and in-plant transport, delivering required raw materials and components to the production base.
Under the cooperation arrangement, Logent will participate in the overall planning of the logistics center, including warehouse layout, workflow design, operating system configuration, and related equipment investment. Warehouse space and material flow routes will be planned according to the needs of Hitachi Energy's production activities, and the relevant equipment and systems will also be incorporated into the preparatory construction work.
Hitachi Energy plans to introduce digital technologies and automated equipment into the logistics center to establish a warehousing management and material flow system. Logent is responsible for related equipment requirement planning and system deployment, but the two parties have not yet disclosed the specific models of automated equipment, the warehouse management system supplier, or the amount of equipment investment.
The new logistics center will undertake the centralized storage and distribution of production materials. Because the warehousing facility is directly adjacent to the manufacturing base, raw materials and components can be sent to production areas via the internal transport system, reducing logistics handoffs between production and warehousing. The facility will support the expansion of Hitachi Energy's Ludvika manufacturing operations and handle growing material storage and distribution demand.
