en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 6, Capital Tankers, backed by Greek shipowners, announced that its Suezmax crude oil tanker "Amor" has signed a 15-month time charter contract with a global energy company, expected to generate revenue of $73.1 million to $82.2 million. The vessel has a deadweight tonnage of 155,348 tons, was built in 2026 by China's New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and features dual-fuel LNG capability as well as a scrubber system. The charter is set to commence in November 2026, subject to the charterer's vessel vetting approval.

The "Amor" was officially delivered to Capital Tankers on October 20, 2026, and the 15-month charter provides the vessel with a medium-term operating contract shortly after delivery. The ship utilizes dual-fuel LNG technology, allowing fuel selection based on operating conditions, and processes engine emissions through a scrubber system. With a deadweight of 155,348 tons, the vessel is classified as a Suezmax tanker, primarily deployed for seaborne crude oil transportation.

Based on the revenue range disclosed by Capital Tankers and the 15-month contract term, the charter corresponds to a daily revenue of approximately $160,000 to $180,000.

The charter agreement also represents progress in Capital Tankers' expansion of its tanker fleet operations. The company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in March 2026, raising approximately $500 million to support its tanker newbuilding program. According to information published by the company on November 6, it currently controls 33 tankers, including 15 Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), 10 Suezmax tankers, and 8 Aframax/LR2 tankers. Of these, 17 are in operation, while the remaining 16 are in the newbuilding phase, scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2028. The company also holds purchase options on 13 additional crude oil tankers.

In October 2026, Capital Tankers announced financing arrangements totaling approximately $930.3 million for 11 VLCCs under construction in China and South Korea, involving Hanwha Ocean, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, and Hengli Heavy Industries. The 15-month charter for the "Amor," together with the company's ongoing newbuilding program, forms part of its fleet operation and expansion arrangements.
