These systems enable easy installation of solar panels without professional assistance, catering to a growing demand for accessible renewable energy solutions.

The new systems are tailored for various roof types, with flat roofs being particularly suitable due to their design. Ilzhöfer’s solutions require no drilling or roof penetration, using a ballasted system that has been tested in wind tunnels for stability. “The mini photovoltaic systems do not require drilling or roof penetration,” the company stated, emphasizing their ease of self-assembly. Each package includes solar modules, an inverter, a mounting system, and connecting cables. The “Wave” mounting solution is designed for flat roofs, while the “Hook” system, adaptable to different roof geometries, supports trapezoidal metal roofs.

Pricing for the systems varies based on configuration. A package with two solar modules, an 800 W Hoymiles inverter, the “Hook” mounting system, and cables is priced at €395 ($462). A four-module package with bifacial 450 W glass-glass modules costs €795 ($930), while a carport version with four modules is €995. These systems connect to the grid via a plug, with a dedicated socket or Wieland system recommended for safety and efficiency.

For users seeking professional assistance, Ilzhöfer offers installation services starting below €400, with combined delivery and installation costs listed from €385. The company highlights the cost-effectiveness of these systems, noting: “Based on a purchase price of €400 to €1,000 and an electricity price of €0.35/kWh to €0.40/kWh, the systems could pay for themselves in two to three years.” This estimate assumes annual solar power production of 600 kWh to 750 kWh, primarily used for on-site consumption, reducing reliance on grid electricity.
