Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 25, SLB (Houston) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire RESMAN Energy Technology, a global leader in wireless reservoir surveillance solutions. RESMAN is known for its advanced chemical tracers that provide precise tracking of water, gas, oil, and CO2 movement within reservoirs and wells, offering critical insights to optimize production and recovery.

RESMAN’s innovative tracer technology allows operators to monitor reservoir flow without disrupting operations, providing unparalleled accuracy at detection levels as low as parts per trillion (ppt). These insights are essential for well performance and reservoir monitoring across various sectors, including oil and gas, CO2 storage, and geothermal applications. By using these tracers, operators can improve production and enhance recovery in their operations.

The company’s production tracers can be integrated with completion equipment at the sand face to identify zones that produce unwanted fluids. This feature enables operators to plan more efficient interventions, prolong well life, and optimize production. Customers will still have the flexibility to choose their preferred vendor for completion hardware, offering them flexibility in the implementation process.

Paul Sims, president of SLB's Production Systems, stated: “With RESMAN’s industry-leading tracer technology, we are expanding our ability to deliver end-to-end solutions for reservoir monitoring and production optimization. By combining RESMAN’s technology with SLB’s expertise in sampling & analysis, advanced digital workflows, and nearly a century of subsurface knowledge, customers will benefit from faster, more precise insights to make smarter, data-driven decisions. Together, these capabilities deliver unparalleled reservoir understanding, enabling operators to optimize production, enhance recovery, and maximize asset performance across both traditional oil and gas operations and emerging energy transition applications.”

RESMAN’s CEO Bonnie Powell expressed pride in the company’s technology and the unique value it brings to the industry, saying: “As part of SLB, we will expand our global reach and combine with their comprehensive portfolio of production and reservoir solutions to deliver even greater value to our customers.”

The transaction is subject to closing conditions and is expected to be finalized by early 2026.

By integrating RESMAN’s leading-edge technology with SLB’s extensive experience and capabilities, the acquisition strengthens SLB’s position in the market, offering operators enhanced tools for reservoir monitoring, production optimization, and energy transition projects.
