Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 10, Xiaomi EV achieved another milestone in September, delivering over 40,000 vehicles and setting a new record for the company’s fast-growing electric vehicle business. The figure marks a notable rise from August, when deliveries surpassed 30,000 units for the second consecutive month, underscoring the brand’s accelerating growth in China’s competitive EV market.
During his 2025 annual speech, Xiaomi Founder, Chairman, and CEO Lei Jun introduced the company’s “Xiaomi Customization Service,” a program that allows customers to personalize their vehicles with premium configurations valued at over 100,000 yuan. Each order requires an 80,000-yuan deposit and includes a 90-day grace period.
The one-year trial program limits production to 40 customized vehicles per month and is currently available for the YU7 Max and SU7 Ultra models. Customers can combine these high-value features with existing configuration options. Mr. Lei explained that while the YU7 originally launched with nine standard colors, the customization service adds five new shades: Crystal Purple, Racing Red, Sprout Yellow, Twilight Rose, and Matte Golden Pink. These finishes use advanced paint technologies and premium pigments to achieve distinctive visual effects.
He further announced that Xiaomi EV is collaborating with global coating suppliers BASF and PPG to develop 100 exclusive paint colors over the next three years. This initiative aims to enhance product diversity and offer customers more personalized design options.
Xiaomi EV’s current lineup includes the SU7, SU7 Ultra, and YU7 models, covering both sedan and SUV categories in the pure-electric segment. To meet growing demand, the company is expanding its production capacity. Its first plant, capable of producing 150,000 vehicles annually, is operating close to full capacity. The second facility, also designed for 150,000 units per year, has already begun production, while construction of a third factory is underway.
In parallel with its production expansion, Xiaomi EV is improving its charging infrastructure and service network. On September 29, the company announced that its Xiaomi Charging Map now includes more than 1.5 million charging points across China, consisting of 120,000 ultra-fast chargers and 1.2 million DC fast-charging piles. This network aims to provide greater convenience and accessibility for Xiaomi EV owners nationwide.
Additionally, Xiaomi EV is continuing to grow its retail presence. In September, the company opened 32 new stores and plans to launch another 22 in October, extending its coverage to six new cities: Chenzhou, Dazhou, Ordos, Handan, Leshan, and Xining.
Through expanding production, enhancing charging services, and introducing personalized customization, Xiaomi EV is solidifying its position in the electric vehicle market. The company’s strategic investments and growing product range signal its ambition to become a major player in China’s rapidly evolving EV industry.
