Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 31, Solex Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ISC Konstanz to advance research and development (R&D) and collaborate on solar cell manufacturing technologies. The announcement was made at a press conference in New Delhi, India.

Solex aims to establish 10GW of solar module and 10GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity.

Under the MoU, ISC Konstanz will provide technological support to enhance Solex Energy’s upcoming TOPCon cell line and assist in integrating advanced rear contact and cSi tandem/perovskite solar technologies. The partnership will also support the creation of Solex’s specialised in-house R&D line, leveraging ISC Konstanz’s patent portfolio to drive ongoing innovation in India.

Solex Energy plans to invest $1.5bn over the next five years to expand manufacturing capacity, with a strong focus on exports to the US. Industry sources report that the US accounts for approximately 90% of India’s solar module export market.

Chetan Shah, Solex Energy chair and managing director, said: “This partnership marks a defining chapter in Solex’s journey toward technological excellence and global leadership. Under our Vision 2030, we are committed to transforming India into a hub of solar innovation with a targeted valuation of Rs1 lakh crore, a $1.5bn investment, and 25,000 highly skilled team members driving that vision forward.”

During the Renewable Energy India (REI) exhibition 2024, Solex introduced India’s first solar module powered by rectangular cells, establishing a benchmark for technological leadership in the country. As part of Vision 2030, the company aims to achieve 10GW of solar module and 10GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity.

At the same event, Solex unveiled the TAPI Rear Contact module, India’s first rear contact solar module concept. Powered by advanced N-type rear contact technology, the TAPI module is expected to deliver efficiency of up to 24.60% and power output of 665W. Commercial production of TAPI Rear Contact is planned to begin by FY2027. Shah emphasized: “Our focus is not just on scaling capacity but on delivering unmatched value through efficiency, reliability, and performance. As we expand our global presence across India, Europe, and the US, we aim to build a future where clean, affordable energy empowers every home, business, and community. Together with ISC Konstanz, we are turning that vision into reality.”

Solex is also pursuing new collaborations with dealers and distributors in India and international markets, including the US and Europe, to strengthen its global presence. The partnership with ISC Konstanz is expected to accelerate technological advancements and support the company’s ambition to become a leading global solar energy player.

This collaboration reinforces India’s position in the global solar market and highlights Solex Energy’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and expanding its export footprint. The company’s Vision 2030 roadmap positions it as a significant contributor to clean energy development worldwide.
