Wedoany.com Report-Dec.8, Meta announced on Friday that it has entered into multiple commercial agreements with news publishers, including USA Today, People Inc, CNN, Fox News, The Daily Caller, Washington Examiner and Le Monde. These partnerships will enable Meta AI to deliver real-time news and updates by directly linking to articles and websites from the participating publishers.

The logo of Meta is seen at Porte de Versailles exhibition center in Paris, France, June 11, 2025.

The new functionality allows users who ask Meta AI news-related questions to receive responses that include links to a broader range of sources.

"When you ask Meta AI news-related questions, you will now receive information and links that draw from more diverse content sources to help you discover timely and relevant content tailored to your interests," the company stated.

The agreements are part of Meta's efforts to enhance its artificial intelligence services and increase user engagement as competition in the AI sector continues to grow. Several other technology companies are also securing content-licensing deals to strengthen their own AI products.

Meta indicated that it plans to expand the programme by adding more publishing partners and introducing additional features in the future.

Financial terms of the individual agreements have not been disclosed. People Inc. and USA Today confirmed their participation in separate statements issued on Friday.

The move follows recent challenges for Meta in the artificial intelligence field, including mixed feedback on its Llama 4 model release, while the company continues to allocate substantial resources to AI development.
