en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 19, Oriental Yuhong signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Dr. Wei Chunyang in Beijing, appointing him as the company's Chief Scientist and Industrial Coatings Expert. The two parties will leverage Oriental Yuhong's National Key Laboratory and Enterprise Technology Center to carry out R&D in heavy-duty anticorrosion technologies for marine and industrial coatings, with a focus on marine antifouling coatings, nano-functional protective materials, and waterproof-antircorrosive composite materials.

Under the cooperation arrangement, Wei Chunyang will lead the related technology R&D efforts and drive the technological development and product commercialization of protective materials for ships, marine engineering, and industrial facilities. Wei Chunyang previously served as R&D head at several international industrial coatings companies, where he led the R&D of ship antifouling and heavy-duty anticorrosion coating products, with research areas covering material reliability, marine anticorrosion, and industrial protection.

Oriental Yuhong's Hongjia industrial coatings business covers sectors including ships, marine engineering, energy, petrochemicals, and metallurgy. Its heavy-duty anticorrosion coating systems have passed relevant tests under the Norwegian NORSOK M-501 standard, including the No.1B marine atmospheric protection system and the No.7A splash and tidal zone protection system, and have obtained relevant product certifications from the China Classification Society.

Hongjia was previously shortlisted as a supplier under China Petrochemical Corporation's 2026–2027 offshore engineering paint framework agreement, and has supplied coating products to industrial projects in countries including Indonesia, Guinea, and Egypt. Among these, the disclosed application projects involve the Indonesia Qili Aluminum alumina project, the Taijing Aluminum 600,000-ton electrolytic aluminum project, and the Egypt Xinfeng Steel steelmaking project.
