en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 7, Swiss specialty chemicals company Clariant launched a new multifunctional surfactant, Genapol Pure Power, developed for automatic dishwasher detergent formulations. Internal company testing shows that compared with existing benchmark surfactants, the new product can reduce dishwasher filter residue weight by up to 70%, while maintaining dishware drying and surface shine performance. The product is planned for market launch in October 2026 and will be showcased from October 14 to 16 at the SEPAWA industry conference in Berlin, Germany.

Genapol Pure Power is primarily used in automatic dishwasher tablets and detergent pods, integrating rinsing, drying, shine retention, and internal machine cleaning functions into a single surfactant raw material. The product is also suitable for traditional rinse aid formulations, with a focus on grease residue issues under low-temperature, short-cycle, and energy-saving wash programs.

In internal trials, Clariant used test conditions with water hardness of 21±1°dH, a phosphate-free automatic dishwasher powder formulation, and standardized soil containing grease, egg, and starch. Results from 30 cumulative cycles showed that the dishwasher filter residue weight with Genapol Pure Power was 0.9 grams, compared with 2.0 grams for the benchmark surfactant. Additional company tests achieved a maximum filter residue reduction of 70%.

Product performance evaluation covered common dishware materials including glass, plastic, porcelain, and stainless steel, with testing content including drying effectiveness, surface shine, and rinsing performance. The new product has been tested in energy-saving wash programs and short-cycle glassware wash programs, and performance evaluation was conducted for grease deposition under low-temperature and reduced-water conditions.

Genapol Pure Power has a waxy physical form and can simultaneously serve a binding function in tablet and pod formulations. Clariant positions the product for premium automatic dishwasher detergent formulations with integrated machine cleaning and rinsing functions, supporting formulation manufacturers in adjusting the raw material combinations of multifunctional dishwashing products.

According to the agenda published by the SEPAWA conference, Silke Quester, a researcher at Clariant Germany, plans to deliver a technical presentation at 9:00 AM on October 14, introducing test results for Genapol Pure Power in reducing residue accumulation inside dishwashers and maintaining dishware drying performance.
