en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 7, Indian chemical company Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Limited (KCI) announced that its new triacetin production facility at the Ankleshwar Industrial Development Zone (GIDC) in Gujarat has been officially commissioned, with a designed production capacity of 12 metric tons per day. The facility is built at the company's existing chemical production base, with products targeting both domestic Indian and international markets, covering sectors such as food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and industrial materials.

At the commissioning of the new facility, KCI Executive Director Saumya Vardhan Kanoria and Sanjay Ojha, Head of Manufacturing and Projects for the Chemicals Business, attended the related events. The company has incorporated triacetin into its existing specialty chemicals product portfolio, expanding the range of fine chemical products manufactured at the Ankleshwar site.

Triacetin, also known as glyceryl triacetate, is a chemical product KCI supplies to multiple downstream industries. The application areas listed in the company's announcement include food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, resins, coatings, plastics, and adhesives. Products from the new facility will supply both domestic Indian customers and overseas markets.

KCI had previously built triacetin production facilities at the Ankleshwar site. Earlier public information from the company showed that the site was equipped with a triacetin production capacity of 30 tons per day, using a continuous production process. The 12 tons per day facility announced this time is a new capacity expansion project, but the latest announcement did not provide data on the currently effective capacity of the existing facility or the total combined capacity of all facilities.

KCI currently operates three chemical manufacturing sites in India, located in Ankleshwar, Gujarat; Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh; and Naidupeta. Its chemical products include alcohol-derived intermediates, phenolic resins, and specialty chemicals. The Ankleshwar site has also previously built production facilities for formaldehyde, hexamethylenetetramine, and phenolic resins.

The company will continue to increase manufacturing capacity in accordance with its "Vision 2030" development plan and expand its existing chemical production facilities.
