Wedoany.com Report-Dec.9, Hamelin Gold has begun field exploration at its 100%-owned Venus gold project in Western Australia's prolific Murchison gold district after the grant of a second exploration licence.

The heritage survey is scheduled for completion in February 2026, with drilling expected to commence shortly thereafter.

The Venus project now covers 300 km² of granted tenure, placing Hamelin among the largest landholders in the Cue region. The project is located approximately 15 km south-east of the town of Cue and 10 km east of Caprice Resources' Island gold discovery. It occupies the southern extensions of two major mineralised corridors – the +1 million-ounce Comet trend and the +1 million-ounce Tuckabianna trend – within the greater +15 million-ounce Murchison goldfield.

Most of the ground lies beneath shallow lake sediments and has seen minimal historical drilling, creating a large underexplored greenstone belt opportunity.

Managing Director Peter Bewick commented: "It is an exciting time with the commencement of on-ground exploration activities and the grant of our second exploration licence at our Venus gold project. The project now consists of 300 km² of granted tenure, making Hamelin one of the largest tenement holders in the Cue region. Tenure covers the southern extensions of the Tuckabianna and Comet gold corridors and significant areas of unexplored greenstone stratigraphy. Hamelin's Venus gold project sits in the heart of the +15 moz Murchison goldfield."

A recently completed surface soil-sampling programme targeted the interpreted western and southern extensions of the Comet mine sequence. On 3 December 2025, exploration licence E58/644 was granted, securing the prospective southern continuation of the Tuckabianna shear zone.

Hamelin is finalising arrangements for a comprehensive heritage survey across priority targets, scheduled for February 2026. First drilling on lake-covered targets is expected to begin immediately after survey clearance.

Bewick added: "A detailed aeromagnetic survey over the recently granted southern tenement is planned for January 2026. We are also preparing for a heritage survey in early 2026 with drilling of lake targets to commence shortly thereafter. The Venus gold project is an exciting new addition to Hamelin Gold’s exploration portfolio and the commencement of exploration activities at the project is an important milestone for the company."

The combination of favourable structural setting beneath Lake Austin, proximity to known multi-million-ounce gold trends, and absence of prior systematic exploration presents Hamelin Gold with a significant discovery opportunity in one of Australia's most endowed gold provinces.
