Wedoany.com Report-Dec.31, Two major Argentine grain exchanges recently forecast that the country's wheat production this crop year is expected to reach between 27.1 and 27.7 million tons. If achieved, this estimate would surpass the country's previous production level of approximately 22 million tons.
According to analysis by the Rosario Board of Trade, favorable weather conditions are the primary factor supporting the optimistic grain production outlook. The report notes that crops experienced suitable precipitation and temperatures during their growth cycle, laying the foundation for high yields. A local producer stated, "When the winter crops were in their vegetative growth stage, we experienced low temperatures, which is exactly what the crops needed. This was followed by a period of sustained rainfall, which promoted good tillering, ear development, and ultimately resulted in high-quality grain filling."
Currently, the grain harvest has entered its final stages in most parts of the country. Official data shows that approximately 13% of the national wheat crop remains unharvested. As a major grain exporter, the expected increase in the country's grain production is drawing market attention.
As the wheat harvest nears completion, agricultural producers are shifting their focus to the upcoming soybean and corn crops. Some analysts believe that the current weather conditions are also favorable for the growth of the next season's main crops.
