Sichuan Metallurgical Holding Group Co., Ltd. announced that, relying on its electric furnace short-process technology, its annual production capacity for green steel reaches 11.49 million tons. The product range includes vanadium-containing seismic-resistant steel bars, plates, and various other types. This process results in carbon emissions of less than 0.4 tons per ton of steel, representing a reduction of over 80% compared to the traditional long process.

Jiang Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Iron and Steel Association, pointed out at the conference that as the steel industry is included in the national carbon market, the green and low-carbon transformation becomes more urgent, and the advantages of the electric furnace short process will become more prominent.
