Wedoany.com Report on Feb 7th, From February 3rd to 5th, 2026, an iron ore auction was held in Odisha, India, successfully booking approximately 99,700 tons of resources. This auction event attracted participation from multiple companies, with transaction prices and varieties showing diverse characteristics.
During the auction, AM/NS Thakurani booked a total of 76,000 tons of iron ore. This specifically included: 20,000 tons of sized lumps (specification 5-18mm, Fe content 59-61%), transacted at ₹5,500 to ₹6,500 per ton; another batch of 20,000 tons (specification 5-18mm, Fe content 57%) sold at ₹5,350 per ton; 28,000 tons of lumps (specification 10-40mm, Fe content 57-59%) transacted at ₹4,100 to ₹4,300 per ton; and 8,000 tons of fines (Fe content 57%) at ₹4,000 per ton.
Additionally, JSW booked 23,700 tons of iron ore CLO (Fe content 63%) at a transaction price of ₹8,010 per ton, which included a premium of ₹10 per ton. This iron ore auction reflects the vibrancy of the resource market in Odisha, providing reference data for the local mining industry's development.
