Wedoany.com Report on Feb 12th, Organizers of Air Race X have proposed Pueblo Municipal Airport in Colorado, USA, as a potential venue for the final of its annual championship air race. The event, which bills itself as the spiritual successor to the former Red Bull Air Race, is seeking to expand its presence in North America.

Ted Morris, Head of Air Race X North America, presented the proposal during a Pueblo City Council work session this week. Morris noted, "Pueblo Municipal Airport is an ideal venue for the high-speed Air Race X, where aircraft can reach speeds of around 250 mph and endure up to 12 G-forces. This requires extensive airspace and ground infrastructure support."

Morris emphasized to the council members that they plan to host Air Race X events annually in Pueblo and believes the airport's large footprint, proximity to Interstate 25, and the local aviation school are key advantages.

Air Race X has already held events in Europe and Japan. To bring the finals to Pueblo, the organizers are requesting approximately $1.2 million in financial support from the city and seeking assistance from local services such as the police for crowd management.

The organization estimates that the Air Race X event could bring $4 to $6 million in economic benefits to Pueblo within a year. However, some city council members remain skeptical of the claimed benefits.

No final decision was reached during the session. If approved, the funding plan would require two separate votes by the City Council before the inaugural event could proceed.
