Uranium Deposit in Argentina's Río Negro Province Confirmed to Expand, Enhancing the Country's Largest Uranium Resource Potential

Strategic mineral extraction activities in the southern Argentine province of Río Negro are advancing. Blue Sky Uranium Corp. announced that its Ivana uranium deposit, part of the Amarillo Grande project in the province, has yielded positive technical results following new modeling analysis. This progress confirms the deposit's status as Argentina's largest uranium deposit and reveals a broader resource extent than previously anticipated.

The technical report indicates that the analyzed area covers 505 meters by 132 meters with a thickness of 17 meters, providing the potential for a significant increase in uranium and vanadium resources. Specifically, 34% of the analyzed area lies outside the 2024 block model, representing a net growth in uranium deposit reserves. This discovery is primarily concentrated in the southern segment of the deposit's core, an area that had not been fully tested prior to 2025 due to access restrictions.

The uranium deposit is operated by Ivana Minerales, a strategic collaboration project between Blue Sky and Abatare Spain, a subsidiary of Corporación América Group. The alliance aims to develop the Amarillo Grande project into a supply source for Argentina's nuclear power plants and to compete in the global market. The project seeks to reduce the country's reliance on uranium imports and enhance energy autonomy.

Nikolaos Cacos, President and CEO of Blue Sky, stated: "This provides us with the opportunity to add significant additional pounds of uranium in future resource estimates." He further noted that since this discovery is located in an extension of the planned mining core area, it will positively impact the deposit's potential economic benefits in the next pre-feasibility assessment.

Uranium and vanadium are considered critical minerals in the energy transition. Uranium serves as the fundamental fuel for nuclear energy, helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, while vanadium is crucial for long-duration flow batteries used in renewable energy storage.
