Product Overview:
The 818 atmospheric particulate matter concentration monitor is based on the β-ray principle. By selecting different sampling cutters, it can continuously monitor TSP, PM10, PM2.5, and PM1 concentrations in ambient air over long periods. β-rays are a high-speed electron flow. When they pass through a substance, part of them are absorbed, causing the intensity to attenuate. Under certain conditions, the amount of attenuation depends only on the mass of the absorbed substance and is independent of other physical properties of the substance (such as particle material, color, gloss, shape, etc.). Therefore, it can directly measure the mass concentration of atmospheric particulate matter. This instrument uses low-energy 14C as the β-ray source. The rays pass through clean filter paper before collection and filter paper with collected particles after collection. The mass of the particles is calculated using the Lambert-Beer law based on the change in β-ray absorption.
