Dexin Steel Tube (China) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Dexin Steel Tube) was established in August 2002, initially producing seamless steel pipes through medium-frequency hot expansion and internal boring with external turning. Since 2014, it has adopted the cold drawing process to produce high-precision seamless steel pipes for gas cylinders. From 2017 to the present, while procuring hot-rolled steel pipes, it has leveraged the production capacities of the Tianhuai Steel Pipe 508 mandrel mill and the Wuhan Heavy Industry 864 rolling mill to process steel billets on a commissioned basis, with an annual processing volume currently reaching 150,000 tons. For products that cannot be rolled, are uneconomical or inconvenient to produce—particularly large-diameter thin-walled and ultra-thin-walled seamless steel pipes with a diameter greater than 508 mm and a diameter-to-wall ratio greater than 25—the medium-frequency hot expansion process is adopted. Dexin currently operates nine medium-frequency hot expansion production lines, capable of producing seamless steel pipes with diameters up to 1250 mm, diameter-to-wall ratios up to 100, and lengths exceeding 12 meters, in various standards, materials, and specifications, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of hot-expanded steel pipes. Dexin also operates seven cold drawing production lines, producing 60,000 tons of precision seamless steel pipes ranging from Φ16.7 to 914 mm, along with five large lathes and deep-hole boring machines for cold processing of various high-precision large-diameter thick-walled seamless steel pipes. Dexin Steel Tube has become a leading enterprise in China's seamless steel pipe industry, capable of producing both small and large diameters, with complete hot rolling, cold drawing, and hot expansion processes.
What sets Dexin Steel Tube apart is its strong steel pipe finishing and heat treatment capabilities. It currently operates six heat treatment furnaces (three box-type furnaces and three roller hearth furnaces), capable of normalizing, tempering, annealing, and quenching steel pipes with diameters up to Φ2400 mm. It has three multi-roll straighteners and four point straighteners, seven internal and external polishing machines, sixteen internal and external grinding machines, as well as phosphating, saponification, pipe end processing, UV water-based spraying, and other production equipment, along with fully integrated physical and chemical analysis, mechanical property testing, non-destructive testing, and hydrostatic testing equipment.
The high-quality steel billets of carbon steel, carbon-manganese steel, and chromium-molybdenum steel ordered by Dexin Steel Tube, produced via the LD+LF+RH/VD+CCM process, effectively control the content of C, P, S, and gases such as N, H, O, as well as the five major harmful elements, ensuring steel pipe quality from the source while also guaranteeing finished pipe length and delivery schedule requirements. With year-round reserves of Φ380, Φ450, Φ500, and Φ600 pipe billets in various materials, Dexin produces hot-rolled steel pipes with diameters from Φ273 to Φ508 or larger upon order. Combined with its hot expansion, cold drawing, heat treatment, and finishing capabilities, Dexin can flexibly and efficiently organize production to meet user requirements for various specifications, quantities, and standards of high-pressure pipes, SSC-resistant pipes, HIC-resistant pipes, low-temperature pipes, line pipes, gas cylinder pipes, ASTM-standard pipes, and medium- and low-pressure piping materials, achieving the goal of "rapid delivery within 30 days" for urgent materials.
Dexin Steel Tube has successively obtained the A1, A2 (1), (3), B (1), (3) special equipment manufacturing licenses (pressure piping component manufacturing licenses) issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, as well as type test reports for various materials, standards, and specifications. Following the official interpretation letter issued by the Steel Pipe Technical Committee of the National Steel Standardization Committee on July 9 this year, which recognized the medium-frequency hot expansion process as continuous integral heating, in compliance with the GB/T5310-2017 standard stipulation that "hot-expanded steel pipes shall be pipes formed by expanding billet pipes to larger diameters after integral heating," and the commitment to promptly revise the GB/T5310 standard, user concerns and barriers regarding the use of medium-frequency hot-expanded steel pipes have been removed. Design institutes have correspondingly lifted restrictions on the use of medium-frequency hot-expanded seamless steel pipes. It is foreseeable that longer and larger-diameter seamless steel pipes will find broader applications in petroleum and chemical engineering construction and modern material upgrades, playing an even greater role.
