To increase the single-face output, facilitate roadway layout, reduce roadway drivage rate, decrease the number of face moves, simplify the production system, reduce auxiliary time such as shearer oblique cutting during face extraction, improve the production efficiency of modern coal mines, minimize resource loss, and achieve high-yield and high-efficiency working faces, an armored face conveyor (AFC) with a conveying capacity of 3,000 t/h has been developed. It is used in conjunction with the SZZ1350/700 (1200) stage loader and the PLM4500 (5000) crusher, meeting the demand for an annual output of 10 million tons from a single working face in (2-3) m coal seams in China. Depending on the working face length, the AFC can be configured with power ratings of 3×2000 kW or 7000 kW, with a maximum installed length of 550 m.

Technical Features
- Targeting issues such as reduced conveying capacity, difficulty in starting under load, frequent chain breakage faults, and shortened service life of key components in AFC equipment for ultra-long working faces caused by increased transport distance, technical bottlenecks have been overcome, including dynamic management of chain pretension, time-segmented coordinated control of multi-motor drive power, precise speed regulation, and friction and resistance reduction of scraper components.
- A neural network algorithm control model featuring self-learning, self-diagnosis, and self-adaptation capabilities has been developed. Relying on coal volume scanning devices distributed on the equipment, it enables real-time identification of transported coal volume, intelligent speed regulation, and precise control of motor torque and speed, achieving functions such as speed regulation and interlock protection, thereby realizing the goals of advance prediction and precise speed control.
- The equipment is equipped with a cloud service platform for scraper conveying equipment. The operating condition monitoring system receives data from sensors on the equipment, including temperature, pressure, flow rate, oil quality, and chain breakage, aggregates various operating statuses of the equipment, and stores, analyzes, and mines the data. Combined with historical data from the data center, a health status analysis report for the equipment is ultimately generated, providing users with fault pre-treatment recommendations and equipment maintenance suggestions.
Application Performance
The intelligent complete conveying equipment for ultra-long working faces has been supplied to multiple users in the Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, and Shandong mining areas. During underground application of the first set of equipment, it achieved an excellent maximum daily output of 52,000 tons and set a record of 1.2 million tons of monthly transport output, marking that the intelligent complete conveying equipment for ultra-long working faces possesses a production capacity of 13 million tons per year for medium-thick coal seams.
