This project is the first large-scale infrastructure initiative in Colombia following its accession to the Belt and Road Initiative, and also the country's first modern fully electric regional tram line. The line spans 39.6 kilometers with 17 stations, connecting the capital Bogotá with several towns in the Cundinamarca Department. It is expected to commence operations in October 2027, serving over 130,000 passengers daily and significantly reducing regional commuting times.
