What is a Roots Blower:
A Roots blower is a twin-rotor compression machine in which the axes of the two rotors are parallel to each other. Each rotor is composed of an impeller and a shaft, with small clearances between the impellers, between the impellers and the casing, and between the impellers and the end plates to prevent contact. The impellers, together with the casing and end plates, enclose a fixed displacement volume whose size remains unchanged during rotation. The two rotors are driven by a prime mover through a pair of synchronous gears, rotating at equal speed in opposite directions, pushing the inhaled gas from the suction port to the discharge port without internal compression, thereby completing gas conveyance.
