An electrified highway draws power from overhead cables to drive vehicles, reducing energy storage and conversion steps and achieving high comprehensive energy efficiency. Data shows that the energy utilization efficiency of an electrified highway is as high as 77%, higher than the 66% of electric vehicles and the 29% of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Considering the comprehensive cost of pantographs and power supply and distribution facilities, the transport cost of electrified highway vehicles is 32% and 28% lower than that of traditional diesel vehicles and battery vehicles, respectively, while also delivering significant green and low-carbon benefits.
