The protective sleeve is a cable retrievable tool used to seal the hydraulic chamber in the cable retrievable downhole safety valve to prevent the control medium from being contaminated and cleaned by the well fluid. It is recommended to use the protective sleeve when acidizing and fracturing operations are performed.

The protective sleeve can be lowered and recovered in one trip, and is recommended for pulling out the string with the safety valve locked in the open state.
