Wedoany.com Report on Mar 11th, Persimmon has increased output at its brick, tile and Space4 timber frame facilities to meet demand for new homes. The housebuilder said further investment in all three would play a key role in supporting growth, with the brick plant capacity expansion being a significant move. The brick plant delivered around 60 million bricks to 258 sites in 2025, a 23% increase from 2024. With the plant now operating 24/7, Persimmon plans to further expand brick plant capacity in 2026 by introducing an additional production line, which will come online in 2027. Tile supply grew 54% to 12 million, with plans to add another production shift, while the Space4 timber frame factory was fully operational last year.

Persimmon's investment in digital innovation is also paying off, alongside the launch of the Persimmon Data & AI Academy. The company said: "The ongoing rollout of digital systems helps drive further efficiency and quality benefits. A material management system will help automate the allocation of materials against build schedules, which will help manage cash flow and reduce costs from loss, theft, and damage." Granular analysis of build schedule progress, measuring site-level labour rates and plot-level progression, allows it to focus more on areas for improvement and sharing best practices to ensure further efficiency gains. These tools, platforms, and processes are crucial for the company to drive growth and efficiently achieve its medium-term goals, with the continuous expansion of brick plant capacity being a concrete manifestation of this strategy.
Latest annual results to 31 December 2025 show new home completions rose from 10,664 to 11,905, group revenue increased from £3.2bn to £3.75bn, and pre-tax profit rose from £359.1m to £397.3m. Persimmon said internal materials are now the preferred choice across the business, an approach that offers advantages in cost, efficiency, and quality, ensuring reliable supply and consistent high standards, with the enhanced brick plant capacity providing strong support for this strategy.
