Wedoany.com Report on Mar 18th, UK's top ten housebuilder Keepmoat has recently officially launched a residential development plan in Southend-on-Sea, investing over £30 million to build 122 new homes on vacant land near the site of the scheduled ancient monument, Priory Camp. The project was advanced through cooperation with Homes England, with the first homes expected to be delivered in spring. 30% of these will be provided as affordable housing through local housing associations. All 122 homes will become part of the local council's broader Fossetts Way project, a masterplan expected to deliver up to 900 homes.

Victor Iduwo, Regional Managing Director for Keepmoat South Midlands, said: "We are delighted to see the culmination of nearly two years of collaboration and hard work with Homes England and Southend-on-Sea planners, bringing the Fossetts Farm project to a close. At Keepmoat, we pride ourselves on our strong partnership model, which has enabled us to work with Homes England to unlock another challenging site, with its high-level design praised by the local planning committee. This development will provide 2, 3, and 4-bedroom family homes, creating a vibrant new community in the area. The site design focuses on placemaking and will enhance access to the scheduled ancient monument, Priory Camp. It is also close to Prittlewell railway station and various local amenities." This residential development will also create 10 full-time jobs and apprenticeship opportunities, providing prospects for the local workforce and supply chain.
Simon Duggal, Head of Disposals at Homes England, added: "This is a key milestone for the Fossetts Farm development, enabling Keepmoat to progress work on transforming the site into high-quality homes for local residents. Homes England's involvement was crucial in unlocking the site and supporting the delivery of much-needed new homes. This is an example of how we work with our partners to create sustainable, thriving communities." As one of the UK's top ten partnership housebuilders, nearly 70% of Keepmoat's current development projects are located on brownfield sites. The launch of this residential development marks a new phase in housing construction for Southend-on-Sea.
