Wedoany.com Report on Mar 18th, Boxon, a company specializing in intelligent packaging solutions, recently announced the launch of a new rPET FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) made from recycled PET bottles. The company states that this is the first FIBC made from recycled material on the market to receive direct food contact certification, and it is scheduled to be available in the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets starting from week 12.

This rPET FIBC represents a crucial step forward in circular industrial packaging. By integrating recycled content with high-performance characteristics, it helps businesses reduce their environmental impact while meeting the stringent safety and operational standards of regulated supply chains. The current need for companies to minimize their environmental footprint, comply with regulations such as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), and maintain reliable operations is driving the transition to sustainable materials.

Florence Abgrall, Business Unit Manager at Boxon, noted: "Today's businesses require packaging solutions that support compliance and enhance operational efficiency. Our rPET FIBC enables the transition to recycled materials without compromising durability, handling performance, or supply reliability, while also meeting strict food contact requirements."

These rPET FIBCs are suitable for the food, chemical, and other industrial sectors. Compared to traditional solutions, they offer improved UV resistance, higher abrasion resistance, and better shape stability during transport. Furthermore, they feature clearer print quality, facilitating marking and identification, enhancing traceability, and enabling better control within regulated supply chains.

Boxon highlights that the key features of this rPET FIBC include: being made from Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) PET material; being the first to receive direct food contact certification; having a carbon footprint approximately 50% lower than virgin PP solutions; a temperature tolerance range from -20°C to +140°C; and providing complete compliance documentation. This innovation offers businesses in the EMEA region an environmentally friendly and efficient packaging choice.
