en.Wedoany.com Report, On March 12-13, the "2026 China-Korea Nuclear Energy Industry Exchange Seminar," jointly organized by the China Nuclear Energy Association (CNEA) and the Korea Atomic Industrial Forum (KAIF), was successfully held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Over a hundred enterprise representatives from fields such as nuclear power plant construction, operation management, and equipment manufacturing in China and Korea participated. Through focused alignment of industry needs, the seminar enhanced exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in areas including nuclear power plant construction, supply chain collaboration, and overseas market development. CNEA Secretary-General Guo Limin and KAIF Executive Vice Chairman Noh Baek-sik attended the meeting and delivered opening remarks. Chang Bing, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the International Cooperation Department of CNEA, presided over the meeting.

Guo Limin mentioned that as the most important nuclear power nations in East Asia, China and Korea share similar development paths and possess complete industrial integration capabilities, while also having significant complementary advantages. Combining "Korean experience" with "Chinese scale" can not only allow each to shine in their own way but also achieve mutual success. He expressed hope that, based on the anticipated global expansion of nuclear energy industry demand, both sides would further realize complementary advantages, resource sharing, and win-win cooperation, jointly promoting the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of the nuclear energy industries in both countries. To this end, he proposed three suggestions: first, strengthen technological and management innovation to continuously improve the safety and economics of nuclear power; second, deepen industry supply-demand alignment to jointly build a stable and resilient collaborative industrial chain system; third, actively expand cooperation in emerging fields and jointly explore opportunities in third-party markets.

Noh Baek-sik stated that as technological powerhouses in the nuclear energy field, China and Korea share a high degree of consensus in addressing the dual pressures of increasing electricity demand and carbon emission reduction. Currently, the operational nuclear power units in the two countries account for about one-fifth of the global total, making them core regions and important markets for global nuclear energy development. A key element for the future of China-Korea relations is strengthening cooperation in the field of nuclear safety and continuously exploring new innovative cooperation models between enterprises. Although overseas cooperation faces many challenges, the process of overcoming difficulties is also the process of moving towards cooperation. KAIF is willing to work with CNEA to continuously promote industry alignment and help build a new mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation framework.

The seminar invited representatives from a total of 11 enterprises, including China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNPEC), Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP), Suzhou Neway Valve Co., Ltd., Sino-Ukrainian Xianchu, Flowserve KSM, and Energyen, to deliver special reports on the development status of the China-Korea nuclear energy supply chain and experiences in overseas market expansion. The seminar also featured a specially arranged B2B matching session to help representatives from both sides engage in more focused industry exchanges.

The seminar also organized a visit for the Korean delegation to the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant for exchange and discussions.
