en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 21st, It is reported that Kartuli Cement, the producer of the Hunnewell Cement brand, has officially submitted an expansion plan for the Kaspi cement plant. The aim is to meet the growing demand in the domestic market by expanding the clinker production line and reduce reliance on clinker imports from neighboring countries. According to the plan, the expansion project will increase the plant's daily clinker production by 1,200 tons, raise annual capacity by 378,000 tons, with the total annual capacity expected to reach 1.86 million tons.

In this expansion, the Kaspi cement plant plans to use coal as the primary fuel, while introducing waste tires and natural gas as supplementary energy sources to optimize production costs and improve energy efficiency. To reduce environmental impact, the project specifically includes a new filtration system with 21 independent emission points, controlling dust emissions through efficient dust removal technology. Additionally, the plant will adopt a closed-loop water circulation system to ensure the recycling of production water, prevent wastewater discharge into surface water bodies, and further minimize ecological risks.

Relevant officials from Kartuli Cement stated that the expansion project not only focuses on increasing capacity but also emphasizes achieving sustainable development goals. By introducing clean energy technologies and environmental protection facilities, the company hopes to contribute to regional environmental improvement while meeting domestic infrastructure needs. Currently, the environmental impact assessment has been submitted to relevant departments for review. If approved, the expansion project will proceed as planned.
