en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 26th, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently issued a temporary emergency fuel waiver, approving the sale of E15 fuel during the summer. This measure allows E15 to be sold nationwide, starting from May 1 and continuing until May 20. Simultaneously, the EPA has permanently removed all restrictions on E10 fuel.

Troy Bredenkamp, Senior Vice President of Government and Public Affairs at the Renewable Fuels Association, noted that while the organization supports this move, temporary waivers cannot replace long-term solutions. He stated, "This is just a stopgap and temporary solution. The corn market needs certainty."

Matt Ziegler, Director of Public Policy and Renewable Fuels at the National Corn Growers Association, mentioned that conflicts in the Middle East have intensified pressure on the energy market. He said, "This provides some relief for people as fuel costs rise, but we hope to achieve the expected growth in E15 sales through legislation."

Zippy Duvall, President of the American Farm Bureau Federation, stated that if E15 fuel blends could be sold permanently, annual demand from U.S. corn farms could increase by 2.4 billion bushels. Brian Jennings, CEO of the American Coalition for Ethanol, emphasized that this is the fifth year emergency fuel waivers have been issued and called for avoiding fragmented state-level regulations. He added, "The EPA only has the authority to issue these emergency waivers on a rolling basis every twenty days. We expect them to continue reissuing these waivers for the 2026 summer driving season."

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, a senior member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, stated that Congress needs to act swiftly to ensure long-term energy security. The agricultural industry continues to call for permanent legislation to stabilize the E15 market and avoid reliance on temporary waivers.
