en.Wedoany.com Reported - Delfin Midstream, a US-based liquefied natural gas (LNG) export infrastructure developer, has signed a 20-year LNG supply agreement with the Geneva-based branch of Dutch trading company Gunvor International. Under the agreement, Gunvor will purchase 300,000 tonnes of LNG per year on a free-on-board (FOB) basis from the Delfin FLNG1 facility located 40 nautical miles off the coast of Louisiana. This follows a previous sale and purchase agreement signed by Delfin with Expand Energy on April 22, 2026, for approximately 1.15 million tonnes of LNG per year.
Kalpesh Patel, Co-Head of LNG Trading and Management Board Member at Gunvor, commented: "We are very pleased to announce another long-term partnership with Delfin. This transaction further strengthens Gunvor's LNG portfolio, and together with our robust fleet, we will continue to position ourselves as a reliable LNG supplier to all destinations globally."
The Delfin LNG project is a brownfield deepwater port facility that requires only minimal additional infrastructure investment to support up to three floating LNG vessels, with a total annual capacity of up to 13.2 million tonnes. The project has received a deepwater port license from the US Maritime Administration and has been granted approval by the US Department of Energy for long-term LNG exports to non-free trade agreement countries. Delfin CEO Dudley Poston stated: "We look forward to strengthening our long-term partnership with Gunvor as we continue to advance the development of critical US energy infrastructure. This additional agreement further demonstrates our strength as a reliable long-term supplier of clean, scalable LNG solutions."
