en.Wedoany.com Reported - ASX-listed Zeotech has commenced air core drilling at the Toondoon kaolin project in the Burnett region of Queensland. The mining area is located approximately 20 kilometres south of the town of Mundubbera.

The drilling program involves approximately 119 holes, with a total planned meterage of 3,500 metres. The work includes infill drilling within the mining lease area and step-out exploration into high-potential areas to the east and west. The step-out areas cover two exploration permit areas and the company's own 682 hectares of freehold land.

The project currently hosts a 2025 JORC-compliant kaolin Mineral Resource of 10.87 million tonnes, encompassing grey, pink, and white kaolin, including an Indicated Resource of 4.03 million tonnes and an Inferred Resource of 6.84 million tonnes. This drilling aims to increase the total Mineral Resource and lay the foundation for the establishment of a maiden Ore Reserve. Positive results could potentially extend the current 20-year mine life.

The exploration program was designed based on detailed drill hole spacing analysis and LiDAR surveying, focusing on assessing the grade and thickness continuity of the target kaolin seams.

CEO James Marsh stated: "This program is designed to enhance resource confidence and scale, defining grade control through infill drilling within the mining lease and testing the highly prospective step-out areas to the east and west. By gaining a deeper understanding of kaolin profile continuity and assessing the extension of high-purity mineralisation, we are creating the conditions to advance the project towards a maiden Ore Reserve and evaluating opportunities to extend kaolin Direct Shipping Ore and AusPozz production beyond the mine life considered in the current Pre-Feasibility Study."

Zeotech is advancing the development of the Toondoon project, focusing on producing kaolin Direct Shipping Ore on one hand, and driving the commercialisation of AusPozz on the other. AusPozz is a high-performance metakaolin, an engineered pozzolanic material approved for use as a supplementary cementitious material under Australian concrete standards for application in low-carbon concrete.
