At the core of this strategic partnership, OpenAI will establish its first "Applied AI Lab" outside the United States (OpenAI Singapore Applied AI Lab). The lab's primary mission is to translate cutting-edge AI technologies into deployable application scenarios, with its research directions aligned with Singapore's national AI priorities, focusing on key sectors such as public services, finance, healthcare, and digital infrastructure. The company will launch a specialized training camp for mid-career software engineers (FDE Bootcamp) to help them master the skills needed to build real-world AI systems. Concurrently, OpenAI will collaborate with Singaporean educational institutions to conduct capacity building and research partnerships through methods such as establishing a local chapter of its online education platform, OpenAI Academy, and organizing Codex hackathons for educators. Furthermore, OpenAI will continue its collaboration with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and AI Singapore to enhance the AI application proficiency of tech professionals through programs like AIxTech.
