en.Wedoany.com Reported - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed support for cooperation projects in the fields of green energy and low-carbon production during a meeting with Liu Jian, Chairman of HBIS Group, in Beijing.

Vučić stated that the Smederevo steel plant, acquired by HBIS Group in 2016, has brought tangible benefits to Serbia's economy and strengthened bilateral cooperation after modernization. He pledged further support for the enterprise's environmental protection initiatives.

Liu Jian expressed gratitude for the stable support provided by the Serbian side and noted that the HBIS Serbia project will continue to focus on green technology promotion and production modernization as its core development direction.

Both sides highlighted the phased achievements of the China-Serbia "Green" Steel Joint Laboratory, established in cooperation with the University of Belgrade under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. In the field of hydrogen metallurgy, the laboratory has achieved a 99.74% efficiency rate in processing ore into direct reduced iron and has developed high-strength steel for the automotive industry.

The project is regarded as a symbol of the transformation from traditional industrial cooperation to a scientific and technological cooperation model.
