en.Wedoany.com Reported - BLG Logistics has officially inaugurated the new "Roter Sand" site in the Südhafen of Bremerhaven, Germany, aiming to expand its capabilities in project logistics and the handling of high & heavy bulk cargo.

Kristina Vogt, Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports, and Transformation of Bremen, company CEO Matthias Magnor, and Operations Director Axel Krichel attended the opening ceremony.

The new facility covers approximately 70,000 square meters and is already processing initial project logistics orders, confirming the practical feasibility of this infrastructure and the high demand for additional space for such specialized transport.

The new port complex features four industrial buildings adjacent to the quay for technical operations. Building 14 is considered the core of the project, enabling the installation and assembly of large industrial components and infrastructure in close proximity to the water.

The area is equipped with two berths and a 600-meter-long quay wall, specifically designed for ocean-going roll-on/roll-off vessels, and reinforced with 11 high-capacity bollards to ensure the safe mooring of large ships, supported by modern information infrastructure.

This expansion complements the company's automotive terminal operations in Bremerhaven. The infrastructure handles nearly one million tons of heavy cargo annually and manages approximately one thousand outbound sailings per year to over 200 ports worldwide.

Representatives from the ports of Bremen and Bremerhaven emphasized that this project enhances the region's international competitiveness. The authorities and their business partners plan to promote this strategic advantage at the Breakbulk Europe international trade fair in Rotterdam.
