PepsiCo Opens Lima Mixing Center in Peru with US$59 Million Investment
en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Lima Mixing Center of PepsiCo held its inauguration ceremony in Callao, Peru. President of the Republic of Peru Keiko Fujimori attended the event and stated that the project represents an investment of US$59 million, has 1,200 employees, and is the largest distribution and warehousing center in the Andean region, aimed at strengthening the company's logistics chain in Peru.

Keiko Fujimori stated that Peru is open to investment, innovation, and strategic alliances that can drive employment, enhance national production, and add value to potatoes, cassava, sweet potatoes, and other crops native to Peru. She believes that this modern infrastructure will have a positive impact on the agricultural sector and the national production chain.
PepsiCo purchases more than 24,000 tons of Peruvian potatoes annually, consolidating its position as the country's main buyer of this tuber crop. The company currently works with more than 250 potato farmers, and related activities benefit more than 250 agricultural partners, create more than 150,000 workdays per season, and connect thousands of small shopkeepers and suppliers, promoting development across the entire production chain. PepsiCo also plans to continue purchasing at least US$50 million in agricultural inputs annually.
Keiko Fujimori stated that the government maintains an open policy toward companies committed to the country's growth. She said that one of the main responsibilities of the executive branch is to build trust, facilitate investment, reduce bureaucratic obstacles, and work with the private sector to promote national development.
She mentioned that Peru faces important challenges. That morning, together with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, she announced Peru's accession to the "Shield of the Americas" (Escudo de las Américas), an initiative that will help strengthen the fight against organized crime and restore domestic order. Regarding the El Niño phenomenon, she stated that the government has been coordinating with the three levels of government since early August to carry out prevention and response actions.
Keiko Fujimori also thanked PepsiCo and the "Shoulder to Shoulder" Foundation (Fundación "Hombro a Hombro") for joining efforts to respond to and prepare for potential emergencies. She stated that PepsiCo, through the foundation, provides cooperation and coordinates actions with the government for the benefit of the people.
