Wedoany.com Report-Feb 27, Norwegian energy firms Salten Kraftsamband (SKS) and NTE have entered into a partnership to explore and establish wind power projects spanning from Trøndelag northward. Both companies, based in Nordland and Trøndelag, have extensive experience in energy generation and regional business growth.

Liina Veerme, chief executive of SKS, stated: "More renewable energy is a prerequisite for future value creation, industrial growth and jobs in both Trøndelag and Northern Norway. We are already experiencing that industrial projects with potential for future jobs are struggling to establish themselves, while at the same time it is taking too long to reduce existing greenhouse gas emissions. We have an ambition to produce more local energy, and onshore wind power is the only form of energy that can ensure this quickly enough and on a large enough scale."

Inge Forseth, NTE Energi’s executive vice president for energy, remarked: "We strongly believe in working together. Through this, we increase our implementation power and make it possible to take a greater role in the work on the development of more renewable power. We also want to see if we can expand the collaboration to more parties, he says, and opens the door to both power producers and others who want to develop power production in Trøndelag and further north."

The agreement reflects a shared goal to boost renewable energy output in the region. SKS and NTE aim to address the demand for sustainable power to support industrial development and employment opportunities. Their focus on onshore wind power highlights its potential for rapid deployment and significant scale, positioning it as a key solution for local energy needs.

This collaboration leverages the strengths of both companies to enhance their capacity for project execution. By combining resources and expertise, SKS and NTE seek to accelerate the development of wind energy infrastructure across Trøndelag and Northern Norway. The partnership also remains open to future expansion, inviting additional contributors to join efforts in advancing renewable energy production in the area.
