Wedoany.com Report-Mar 2,Germany’s Federal Network Agency has finalized the planning approval for another segment of the SuedLink project’s extra-high-voltage lines. This approved section lies wholly within the Hanover region. TenneT TSO GmbH, the transmission system operator, has been granted permission to construct and operate this power line following the decision.
This portion marks the seventh segment of the SuedLink project to receive a permit. The route originates near Neustadt am Rübenberge, west of Stöckendrebber village. Spanning approximately 66 kilometers, it links two previously approved sections: B1, stretching from Scheeßel to the Heidekreis-Hanover region border, and B3, extending from the Hanover-Hildesheim district border to Einbeck, as outlined in projects 3 and 4 of the Federal Requirements Plan Act.
The Federal Network Agency continues to oversee planning approval processes for other segments of the SuedLink initiative. This latest approval advances the development of a critical energy infrastructure project aimed at enhancing Germany’s power transmission network. The route’s completion within the Hanover region ensures connectivity between existing sections, supporting the broader objectives of efficient energy distribution.
TenneT TSO GmbH will now proceed with the construction and operational phases for this 66-kilometer stretch. The decision reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s grid capacity, facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources and ensuring a stable electricity supply across regions. The SuedLink project remains a key component of Germany’s energy transition strategy, with the Federal Network Agency playing a central role in coordinating its phased implementation.
