en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a contract with Swedish company Buvi Scandinavia to procure an unmanned surface vessel (USV) manufactured by Berlin-based EvoLogics.

The unmanned vessel will primarily be used in the field of combat engineering, for surveying waterways before the deployment of pontoon bridge systems. The contract is valued at SEK 43 million (approximately USD 4.6 million) and includes optional add-on clauses.

The contract covers a complete system package along with associated support services and training. The system will be primarily delivered to the Swedish Army's engineer units, with the procurement coordinated jointly by representatives from FMV's Army Equipment and Naval Equipment departments.

FMV Systems Engineer Gabriel Dalborg stated that with this equipment, detailed three-dimensional images of the seabed can be generated in a short time, providing faster and more efficient decision support for the Swedish Armed Forces while enhancing combat engineering capabilities.

Delivery is scheduled for autumn 2026, after which the unmanned vessel system will undergo testing and evaluation in coastal and inland environments.

The agreement also allows for the additional ordering of more unmanned surface vessels. Buvi Scandinavia, EvoLogics, and FMV will collaborate to adjust and integrate the system to meet the operational requirements of the Swedish military.
