KUKA's 1.5-Ton Autonomous Forklift to Open for Global Ordering in September

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 10, KUKA announced the latest commercialization arrangements for the KMF 1500P autonomous forklift series, among which the first model, the KMF 1500P-CB, will open for global ordering starting September 2026, with the first batch of units scheduled for delivery beginning in December. The model has a maximum payload of 1,500 kg and a maximum lift height of 3 meters, and can autonomously transport open and closed pallets as well as load carriers.

The KMF 1500P-CB adopts a counterbalance design, enabling it to pick up and place loads directly at transfer points with limited underclearance, such as roller conveyors, and is intended for long-distance pallet transport in production workshops and warehouse logistics. The unit features larger wheels, is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery and a conductive charging system, and can operate automatically around the clock.

The model operates on the KUKA.AMR software ecosystem, can connect to KUKA.AMR OS and KUKA.AMR Fleet, and interfaces with other fleet management systems via the VDA 5050 interface. KUKA has equipped the unit with a 360-degree safety system, and the product currently already meets the requirements of the new EU Machinery Regulation mandatory from January 2027.

The KMF 1500P-CB was previously publicly showcased at the 2026 interpack trade fair, where the main specifications announced already included a 1,500 kg payload and a 3-meter lift height. The September milestone adds global ordering and initial delivery arrangements. KUKA plans to continue launching the KMF 1500P-PS pallet stacking model in the first quarter of 2027; this unit also has a 1,500 kg payload capacity and a maximum lift height of 2.5 meters, and is primarily aimed at narrow aisles and compact storage spaces.
