XPENG Humanoid Robot Production Line Officially Launched, IRON Completes Automated Final Assembly and Rolls Off the Line
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 8, according to XPENG Motors, XPENG's robot production line was officially launched, with its high-level general-purpose humanoid robot completing automated final assembly and independently walking off the production line. This milestone follows XPENG's earlier initiation of small-batch trial production of humanoid robots and the joint commissioning of the mass production line, further advancing the production process to the official launch stage.

The core product XPENG is currently advancing toward mass production is the next-generation IRON humanoid robot. According to official XPENG materials, IRON features a highly human-like structural design, with 76 degrees of freedom across the entire body and 21 degrees of freedom in each hand. The robot is equipped with three self-developed Turing AI chips, delivering an effective computing power of up to 2250 TOPS. Core hardware components, including chips, controllers, motion modules, and dexterous hands, are all integrated into XPENG's self-developed system.
Prior to the launch of the production line, XPENG had already been advancing small-batch trial production of IRON at its Guangzhou factory. Public information from July showed that the relevant mass production line was in its final joint commissioning phase at that time. On September 8, the high-level general-purpose humanoid robot completed automated final assembly and independently rolled off the line, marking a new production milestone in its mass production preparation process.
XPENG plans to push IRON into formal mass production by the end of 2026. The company disclosed in August that its robotics business had completed financing of over USD 900 million, with a post-investment valuation exceeding USD 6.3 billion. The raised funds will be used for robot software and hardware R&D, Physical AI model training, high-quality data generation, end-to-end mass production facility construction, and global commercialization. XPENG also plans to officially unveil IRON in 2027 and commence deliveries in both the Chinese and overseas markets, with initial application scenarios including XPENG stores and campuses.
In its Q2 2026 earnings materials, XPENG further disclosed that, driven by growing external market demand, IRON's monthly production capacity can rapidly ramp up to thousands of units in 2027, with the first batch of large-scale deliveries targeting retail and service industry customers. The company has previously confirmed that IRON will also enter scenarios such as store navigation, guided sales, and industrial inspection.
