en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 21, Belgian precision manufacturing company Melotte announced the results of applying German amsight quality management software, reducing the time spent organizing quality data for its metal additive manufacturing operations from approximately 3 hours per week to 20 minutes, a decrease of about 89%; the time for investigating root causes of production defects was compressed from 3 to 4 hours to typically no more than 30 minutes. The system has been applied to Melotte's industrial production processes, centrally managing 3D printing equipment data, computed tomography inspection results, sensor records, and equipment maintenance information.

Melotte previously managed manufacturing quality information through Excel files, manual records, equipment sensor data, CT inspection reports, and separate maintenance documents. After using amsight, raw material, print build, post-processing, and final inspection data are linked to specific components, with corresponding production history retained. The system supports quality traceability, statistical process control, and production anomaly analysis, enabling production and quality personnel to query data records from different process steps through a unified platform.

In actual production, Melotte once discovered an increase in CT inspection defects in components produced by a dual-laser additive manufacturing system. After correlating and analyzing CT scan results with print build records, technicians identified one of the lasers and took corrective measures accordingly. This case represents a quality analysis application of the system in existing production processes.

The amsight platform also connects powder material information, equipment operating parameters, post-processing records, and quality inspection evidence to component-level data files for customer quality reviews and production process traceability. Melotte's business covers semiconductors, aerospace, and defense sectors, and also provides metal 3D printing, milling, turning, grinding, and electrical discharge machining services.

The project was jointly announced as completed system deployment by Melotte, Additive Center, and amsight on February 24, 2026. At that time, the three parties had already established a full-process data collection system covering raw material incoming inspection, printing manufacturing, post-processing, and CT inspection, with subsequent work including using historical production data to identify key process parameters affecting component quality. The application results released in October further provided quality data organization time, fault investigation duration, and a dual-laser equipment anomaly traceability case.
