Canada's Promise Robotics Signs Agreement for Robotic Manufacturing of Components for 1,250 U.S. Homes
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, Canadian robotics manufacturing company Promise Robotics announced that it has signed a multi-year commercial agreement with U.S. homebuilder D.R. Horton to provide building component manufacturing and on-site installation services for more than 1,250 homes in the United States through its AI robotic manufacturing platform. Promise Robotics also plans to build its first U.S. manufacturing plant in the Phoenix, Arizona area, with production expected to begin in early 2027, undertaking automated component manufacturing for local residential projects.

The contract adopts a Factory-as-a-Service (FaaS) manufacturing service model. D.R. Horton will use Promise Robotics' automated production platform to convert existing residential design files into robotic machining instructions and production plans. Promise Robotics is responsible for organizing factory robotic manufacturing, production operations, and the component delivery process linked to on-site installation, while D.R. Horton obtains residential component manufacturing capability through the platform.
According to locally disclosed plant arrangements in the United States, Promise Robotics has secured a production site of approximately 16,000 square feet (about 1,486 square meters) near Gilbert in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The facility will become the company's first manufacturing base in the United States, with a production system serving multiple homebuilders. It plans to establish a factory management and production operations team to carry out robotic equipment operation, component processing, and production organization.
Promise Robotics' production platform uses AI software to process architectural design data, generate manufacturing sequences and robotic motion instructions, and coordinate component manufacturing with on-site installation. The robotic system is mainly used for processing residential walls, floors, and other wood-frame components, which are prefabricated in the factory and then transported to the construction site for assembly. The platform has already been put into use at manufacturing facilities in Calgary and Edmonton, Canada, and this U.S. agreement will apply the related technology to D.R. Horton's homebuilding operations.
