BAUHAUS Germany Central Warehouse Puts Fully Automated Inbound System into Operation

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 29, BAUHAUS's import and central warehouse in Krefeld, Germany, put a fully automated inbound system into operation, with XYZ Robotics providing RockyOne and RockyOne SE mobile manipulator robots, covering container unloading, carton recognition, sorting, and palletizing. The system has entered daily production operation and is used to handle imported goods continuously arriving at the warehouse.

The Krefeld central warehouse supplies goods to BAUHAUS stores across Europe, handling thousands of batches of inbound goods every day and involving more than 10,000 product types. Inbound cartons vary considerably in size, weight, orientation, and palletizing pattern, and these processes previously required extensive manual involvement. The new system connects multiple previously separate operational steps into a continuous automated process.

After operations begin, RockyOne enters the interior of containers to grasp loose cartons and feeds the goods into the subsequent conveying process; after the barcode recognition system completes product identification, RockyOne SE sorts and palletizes according to the pallet rules set by BAUHAUS. The entire process runs continuously from container unloading to the formation of finished pallets ready for subsequent in-warehouse operations, with manual work mainly responsible for replacing completed pallets.

The system is deployed for continuous operation scenarios and can handle cartons of different specifications, weights, and stacking states. XYZ Robotics has established a local team in Germany responsible for project planning, system commissioning, and after-sales service. This Krefeld project is also the first project in Europe in which its fully automated inbound solution has been put into actual production operation.

XYZ Robotics completed the project's launch in July, and the operating status announced at the end of September shows that the system has moved from the project delivery stage into daily production use. The Rocky series had previously been deployed in Japan, France, and other logistics scenarios in Europe, with applications covering container unloading, truck loading and unloading, mixed-case palletizing, and order picking.
