Germany's Agile Robots Plans to Produce 2,000 Humanoid Robots Annually by 2027
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 21, Chen Zhaopeng, CEO of German robot manufacturer Agile Robots, announced that the company plans to produce 1,000 to 2,000 compact humanoid robots in 2027 and is collaborating with NVIDIA to develop a robot platform for university and corporate research laboratories. The two products, Agile ONE S and Agile ONE SN, are scheduled to enter production by the end of 2026, with the SN model equipped with NVIDIA's computing platform, primarily for robot skill training, data collection, and industrial application validation.

The Agile ONE SN adopts a hardware configuration jointly defined by both parties, featuring dexterous hands, vision cameras, and NVIDIA's Jetson Thor edge computing platform, integrating the Isaac GR00T robot foundation model, and planning to incorporate Halos safety technology. The robot stands approximately 1.4 meters tall with a compact bipedal structure, designed for university laboratories and corporate R&D institutions. Compared with the standard Agile ONE S, the SN model focuses on NVIDIA robot learning and computing technology, providing researchers with a pre-integrated software and hardware development environment.
NVIDIA simultaneously released updates to its Isaac robot development platform at the GTC conference in Berlin on October 21, including the Isaac OS runtime environment, the Isaac Lab 3.0 training framework, and simulation and data resources for robot learning. The Agile ONE SN will be available to research institutions in early 2027, with Stanford University and ETH Zurich listed as potential customers. NVIDIA's robot product lead stated that standardized pre-configured solutions can reduce the development time required for research institutions to integrate robot hardware, software, and computing systems on their own.
Agile Robots is headquartered in Munich, Germany, with operations covering industrial robots, intelligent automation systems, and humanoid robots. The company previously launched the Agile ONE platform for industrial scenarios and has carried out manufacturing applications through industrial robots, force control technology, and embodied AI systems. The new production plan incorporates compact humanoid robots into the company's product lineup, with the first batch of target customers concentrated in universities, research institutions, and corporate laboratories.
