en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 26, U.S. humanoid robot manufacturer Agility Robotics signed a new commercial cooperation agreement with logistics service provider GXO Logistics, planning to deploy Digit humanoid robots at two GXO logistics facilities in Statesville, North Carolina, and Lebanon, Tennessee. The first batch of equipment is expected to be deployed in early 2027, using the Digit 4 model, and will be gradually upgraded once the Digit 5 becomes commercially available. The robots will primarily handle repetitive material handling tasks in the e-commerce order fulfillment process.

The two companies previously conducted commercial operations at a logistics center in Flowery Branch, Georgia, USA. Digit robots work alongside existing warehouse automation equipment, handling totes and placing them onto conveyor lines. As of October 26, Digit robots at the facility had cumulatively handled over 100,000 totes. In June 2024, the two parties signed a multi-year Robot-as-a-Service agreement, under which Agility provides Digit robots and the Agility Arc cloud-based fleet management platform to support robot operation management and integration with warehouse operation systems.

The expanded agreement extends Digit's commercial deployment to GXO operating sites in two additional states, with new tasks concentrated in the e-commerce warehouse fulfillment segment. Agility plans to first deploy using existing Digit 4 equipment, then introduce the next-generation Digit 5. The latter was released on September 15, 2026, and its commercial availability will be aligned with the subsequent equipment upgrade schedules at the two warehouses.
