Danfoss EBI Production Line Commissions 20,000-Volt Final Inspection System

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 11, Danfoss Spray and Burner Technologies announced the latest equipment investment for the EBI ignition device production line. A new automated final inspection system has been added to the line, capable of performing high-voltage tests of up to 20,000 volts on products coming off the line and recording detailed measurement data for each ignition device. The inspection step is completed before products enter inventory.

The inspection system converts the high-voltage test results of each individual product into traceable production data, used to check key product parameters and the production process. The EBI series consists of electronic ignition devices for oil and gas burners, operating at high frequency and mainly configured for oil burners and gas burners. The existing EBI4 series products include bipolar and unipolar ignition models, with some 230-volt models having a secondary peak voltage of 12 kV or 15 kV.

This final inspection equipment investment continues the EBI production line's equipment upgrades in 2026. In April, Danfoss installed a Cencorp 1000 Evo automated machine on the same production line for automatically picking, cutting, and inserting electronic components onto printed circuit boards. The machine is equipped with a vision system for component positioning and alignment. At that time, three similar machines were already in operation on the production line, and Danfoss had ordered a fourth machine, planned for continued installation within 2026.

The EBI production line thus forms two types of equipment upgrade milestones: automated electronic component insertion at the front end and automated high-voltage inspection at the end. The new final inspection system covers data collection for each finished product, while the Cencorp machine handles automated PCB assembly insertion. The two processes correspond respectively to production assembly and finished product inspection stages.
