India's Diamond Power to Commission Copper Cable Line with 1,500-Ton Monthly Capacity in August 2026

The line commenced commercial production on August 20, 2026, bringing copper conductor manufacturing in-house at its existing facility and creating synergies with its power cable business.

The new line has an installed capacity of 1,500 metric tons of copper cables per month, primarily targeting applications requiring high power density and high current-carrying capacity, such as data centers, power plants, and heavy industrial facilities. The line includes in-house drawing processes from copper rod to copper wire, enabling full conductor manufacturing to be completed within the company's premises. The company stated that this vertical integration is designed to take control of conductor quality, consistency, and cost across its copper product range.

Diamond Power previously focused primarily on aluminum-based cables and conductors. The addition of copper wire products expands its business into higher-value segments, enabling the company to offer complete cable solutions with both aluminum and copper conductors. The company stated that the capacity expansion is intended to serve both domestic and export markets, aligns with its existing customer base, and does not alter the overall nature of its business. It expects the expansion to support business growth and have a positive impact on revenue.

Management stated that customers have been seeking a single source capable of supplying both aluminum and copper conductors, and the new line helps the company more fully meet this demand.
