Wandercraft's Industrial Humanoid Robot Customer Base Grows to 12 Companies

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 4, French robotics company Wandercraft announced that its Calvin-40 industrial humanoid robot has secured 12 corporate customers, spanning sectors such as automotive manufacturing, logistics, retail, healthcare, and defense. The company has not disclosed the full list of the 12 customers, order values, or the total number of units. The project is currently in the phase of expanding real-world industrial applications and preparing to scale up production.

The Calvin-40 is currently being developed primarily for industrial material handling scenarios, capable of performing material movement tasks such as tires, boxes, parcels, panels, and carts. Wandercraft is also developing picking and sorting capabilities to enable the robot to gradually transition from heavy-item handling to industrial tasks requiring finer gripping and manipulation skills. The company's technical roadmap is to first establish stable operational capabilities for specific processes, then leverage data generated from real-world deployments to continue expanding the robot's range of tasks.

The Calvin-40 has already entered the Renault Group's production system. According to Wandercraft's official materials, the robot was already operating on the production line at Renault's Douai plant in 2026, with plans to scale up to a deployment of 350 units by 2027. Renault Group had previously taken a stake in Wandercraft and signed a cooperation agreement for industrial robot development, covering both robot R&D and subsequent industrial production.

In June of this year, Renault Group confirmed that Calvin has begun handling heavy-load lifting, sharp-component manipulation, and repetitive industrial tasks. The two parties are currently still optimizing for reliability and production line integration in high-speed automotive manufacturing environments. Wandercraft's disclosure of 12 customers this time indicates that the Calvin-40's commercial applications have expanded beyond Renault as the sole launch customer, but the company has not yet announced the specific deployment plants, unit quantities, or delivery timelines for the other customers.
