en.Wedoany.com Reported - The global network of Visayas Container Terminal (VCT) has further expanded, as the terminal recently welcomed the maiden call of Maersk's PH6 service.

Through this new service, VCT, operated by International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), opens a direct gateway for customers in Panay Island and the entire Western Visayas region to China's Yantian and Hong Kong, thereby connecting to major global markets in Asia-Pacific, the United States, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.
John Largo, CEO of VCT, stated that the addition of the PH6 service highlights the terminal's role in regional trade and demonstrates its capability as a modern gateway to seamlessly handle foreign trade container vessels while ensuring precise and reliable service.
ICTSI noted in a statement that with the optimized transit times offered by this service, importers and exporters can effectively reduce logistics costs.
Maersk's PH6 service calls at VCT every Tuesday, with the port rotation as follows: Yantian (Shenzhen) – Hong Kong – Batangas – Tagoloan – Cebu, Iloilo – Yantian.
The Philippine Ports Authority awarded ICTSI a 25-year operation and development contract for the Iloilo Commercial Port Complex in January 2024, and ICTSI subsequently renamed the terminal VCT.
