Wedoany.com Report-Mar 10, CDWE has kicked off the 2025 construction campaign for the 1GW Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan.
The first installation campaign of the project was completed in November last year, with the jacket foundations installed at Hai Long 2.
The work was carried out by CDWE’s heavy lift vessel Green Jade (pictured) and also included the installation of the foundation of the Hai Long 3 offshore substation.
CDWE paused offshore operations due to weather conditions over the winter, but the Green Jade team carried out maintenance work to ensure the vessel was ready for this year’s construction phase.
Building on last year’s work, CDWE has recently completed pin pile installation at the first Hai Long 3 locations.
A CDWE spokesperson said: “Our dedicated Hai Long project team and valued partners have worked seamlessly with the Hai Long client team, keeping the project on track for timely completion.
“Alongside the celebration of CDWE’s sixth anniversary and this important milestone, we remain vigilant and humble about the journey ahead, made possible by our incredible team and Green Jade.”
Located approximately 45km to 70km off the coast of Changhua in the Taiwan Strait, Hai Long is a two-phase wind farm development.
The Hai Long 2A wind farm was allocated 300MW of grid-connected capacity, while the Hai Long 2B and 3 arrays were allocated in Taiwan’s first auction, in 2018, 744MW of grid-connected capacity.
